Heavy fuel oils are becoming more and more unstable due to decreasing
quality of crude oils and to more efficient refinery processing.
If problems, such as flocculation and sedimentation of asphaltenes
leading to sludge formation, are to be avoided, the stability
of the fuel needs to be measured accurately and controlled using
the appropriate fuel treatment, i.e. stabiliser. In this way,
good quality HFO is provided to the end user.

Thanks to the Turbiscan® :
• visbreaker operation can be optimised
• stability of HFO can be monitored easily and quickly (15
minutes per analysis)
• additive treatment to improve the stability of HFO can be
optimised
• many more benefits can be gained
